Virtually every business experiences / performs audits within their walls, and often outside their walls.  One of the core reasons for audits is to ensure compliance, and rightly so.  At Valu-Lens Consulting LLC, however, we believe audits should certainly ensure compliance, but also drive improvement and evaluate effectiveness / efficiency.  A company / function may very well be compliant, but if ineffective, the company has an opportunity.  Particularly regarding internal company requirements, a compliant but ineffective operation is a solid candidate for improvement.  On the contrary, a non-compliant, but more effective operation may be an opportunity to change the company requirement.
